All Company members will be dancing behind the float during the parade. We ask everyone besides company members to wear Prestige tank tops, t shirts, or studio colors. Our colors are black and teal. If you have a dancer under the age of 7 you may have noticed a new, fun curriculum this year. This program is called Princess Ballerina. What this program offers Prestige a fun and exciting new way to approach ballet for your dancers. Each month the Princess Ballerina classes will begin a new theme. This months theme is TOY STORE! With this theme we learn important ballet technique and skills while also using our imagination to explore different adventures we might run into in a toy store. The dancers watch their progress by filling up personal sticker charts that they will get to take home at the end of the month. We will also invite families into the studio at the end of each month for a graduation ceremony where they will receive their certificate of completion and show you all that they have been working on for this month.

Last but not least, as I’m sure you have noticed our new and improved logo this year! With this new logo comes these fun new Car Decals. Car decals are a great way to support your child and what they love. Plus they’re super cute. If you would like to order one for your family you can put in an order through the front desk in Salina or McPherson, OR you can email Kristal at

That’s all for this month. Thank you so much for tuning in and staying caught up on everything that’s going on at Prestige School of Dance. We hope you all enjoy your first month back to class!

Studio Policies

Welcome to the Prestige School of Dance! Since 2008, I have worked hard to provide the best dance instruction to area students. It is my sincere desire to provide my students with a high quality facility, outstanding instruction, and challenging dance classes all within a nurturing and professional environment. I aim to ensure the safest and most positive dance experience for you and your children, while instilling the core fundamentals of dance as an art form. We want to thank you for choosing Prestige for your child’s dance education. My staff and I have all received college educations in dance, theatre, and performing arts! Please read through the following policies. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you. Kristal Venters- Owner/Director

Parking and drop-off policy: For our Salina studio, we have TWO main options: You may park out front (or back) of the ROSS entrance in the Central Mall. Please be prompt in picking up. McPherson please utilize the front parking lot in the Coronado Mall.

E-mail Communication: In an ongoing effort to keep administrative costs down, the main form of communication between the studio and its families will be through e-mail. Please provide your current e-mail address on the last page. I ask that you PLEASE check your e-mail on a regular basis to keep informed on updated studio information. We also have a monthly newsletter via our website for you to print, as well as a LIVE FB video that we will post monthly. This will include everything that is happening around the studio. Please friend us on Facebook at Prestige School of Dance Salina, or Prestige School of Dance McPherson! For a quick response, email us at or call 785-823-2627

Important Note: Each student must be covered by their family’s insurance policy. If an injury occurs, it is understood that the student’s own policy is your only source of coverage/reimbursement.

Tuition: Tuition is paid on a monthly basis, due on the 1st of the month and past due after the 10th. A $10.00 late fee will be automatically assessed for tuition received after the 10th. All tuition is based on four weeks per month; therefore, there will be no extra charge for the “fifth week” lessons as these “free” lessons are used to offset the days when the studio is closed (see below.) If paying by check, please make checks payable to Prestige School of Dance. For your convenience, we do accept online tuition payments either month by month or through an automatic payment option via our studio director website. Any check returned to the studio for insufficient funds will be charged a $35.00 service fee – no exceptions.

Tuition is not refundable for any reason. Make up times are available for all students should an instructor need to cancel due to illness or family emergency, and there is no sub available.

Pre-Scheduled Studio Holidays & Tuition:  Labor Day, Thanksgiving break, Christmas break and Memorial Day. Tuition is not pro-rated for holidays, family vacations, illnesses or classes missed for other activities. If a class needs to be canceled for any reason, you will be notified via email, Facebook and the studio’s website:

Class placements: Students are placed in classes according to their technical abilities, not necessarily their age. All student placement is based on Instructor/director approval. Class size is generally limited to between 9-14 students, although some classes are smaller and some larger. Should a class not contain a suitable enough number of students, it is subject to cancellation or adjustment in schedule. Each month we follow FUN and engaging themes, in addition to curriculum based learning at our studio.

Dropping Classes: Prestige School of Dance respectfully asks that if you are withdrawing yourself or your student, that you please notify the director IN WRITING 2-4 weeks prior to the withdraw date. Please note that text messages are not an acceptable form of notice of withdrawal. If no written notice is given, tuition will be charged in full and will be due and payable until such notice is received by the Director.

Absences: There are no refunds or adjustments made for missed classes. Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. As a courtesy, make-up lessons are available to students for two full months following the month in which the classes were missed, as long as tuition is paid for the current month. Note that make up classes cannot be carried over into the next semester, especially summer. Make-up periods may be extended (at the Director’s discretion) for unusual circumstances. We ask that parents please notify the director if your child will be missing class so we can inform their Instructor.

Student & Parent Code of Conduct: Students are expected to act respectfully to their instructors (including student assistants) and their fellow students at all times while on studio premises. Cell phones are NOT allowed to be used inside the studio classroom by either student or parent. Lack of respect, by students or parents, in or out of the classroom will not be tolerated. Students who disrupt class will be asked to sit out of class and a parent will be notified of the student’s conduct. Should a parent desire to discuss their children’s progress, an appointment should be set up with the instructor and / or director of the studio.

Class Observation: Prestige School of Dance respectfully asks that only students and instructors are allowed inside the studio areas if the door to the lobby is closed. If you need to excuse your child early, the student or parent must inform the instructor prior to class and respectfully dismiss themselves from class. Not only is it distracting to the students and instructors to have a parent inside the studio (especially for the younger ages) it also maintains the professional integrity of our studio. If the studio door is open, please feel free to watch classes. Teachers will host parent watch week at the end of every month.

Tardiness: Students who are more than 10 minutes late for class will only be allowed in at the discretion of the Instructor. Students who are tardy on a chronic basis may be changed to another class that is at a more convenient time.

Substitute Teachers: Qualified substitute teachers are used when the Prestige instructors are ill, on vacation or have other professional commitments. Substitute teachers are mainly instructors already studying / working at the Prestige School of Dance.  Assistant teachers are occasionally utilized to teach classes, but they are always older students who have trained for many years and who are proficient at handling classes by themselves. ALL Prestige Dance faculty members are certified in first aid/CPR.

Class Cancellation / Combined Classes: It is the Prestige School of Dance’s policy that in the event that a teacher is out sick, classes may be combined with another class taking place at the same time if suitable substitute cannot be obtained. Again, if a class needs to be canceled, make up classes will be offered.

Dress Code: Please refer to the dress code that is outlined on the Prestige of Dance website. Please do not send your student to any dance class in street clothes (no exceptions).  Hair must be up and out of the face in a pony tail or bun at all times. We are always doing a turning step of some nature and spotting of the head is much easier to teach and execute with a bun instead of just a ponytail.

Faculty– Experienced and trained dance educators wanting to build professional artists to carry their passion for dance out into the world. Many have had collegiate/professional experience. Multiple years of teaching experience. (Well-rounded)

Facility-State of the art floating marley floors. Benefits our students by reducing muscle
fatigue and preventing injury.

Family– We want to promote a sense of family at PDC.

Values– We believe strong technique training begins in your first class. Technique comes first, then choreography time. Choreography is improved by what they achieve in their technique classes.

We know not everyone wants to be a professional dancer in life, but we still want to provide the best training possible. Company is a big commitment physically, emotionally, and financially so we believe in getting the most out of it.

If working in the industry is what your dancer is wanting, we will provide opportunities and mentoring to help achieve their goals. (preparing for college auditions/professional

Will my Dancer be competing at the conventions?- Dances will be selected to compete per Director’s discretion.

Are there any other opportunities for my dancer?—MANY options throughout season and performance opportunities.

Will there be ‘choreography fee’s’?– If it is an outside choreographer, then yes!

Legleiter Video will be capturing our show for us again this year. Since we do have a professional hired to record our show, we have a very strong policy against the use of cell phones or cameras. Absolutely NO cell phone or cameras are permitted during our shows. Not only does this interfere with our videographer, but flashes can blind a dancer on stage.

To order a copy of our show, or any previous years show, please see the legleiter booth in the front lobby of the theatre.

If your student chooses to sit with you or your family, a ticket must be purchased if they wish to have their own seat.
